Offer a session for less with a promo code, or make it free or cheaper for people who hold a pass.

There are two ways to lower what someone pays for a session:

If you want…Use
A code people enter at checkout (launch offer, referral, a gift for one client)A Promo Code
Sessions included in a package of time-limited access ("10 weeks of weekly sessions")A Pass

When to use this

  • You're launching a new session and want early bookings.
  • You want to thank a client or offer a scholarship.
  • You sell a program where sessions are included.

Discount with a promo code

Open Promotions

Open the session type. In the Promo row on the left, click + (or … → Manage Promotions). You can also go to Business → Pricing and use the Promotions tab.

Create the code

Name the code (letters and numbers, such as LAUNCH20), choose a percentage or a fixed dollar amount off, and make sure it applies to sessions. To limit it to this session only, select it specifically.

Set limits

Optionally set a maximum number of uses, uses per person, and an expiry date. Then activate it.

Share it

Tell people where to enter it: "Enter the code under 'Have a promo code?' when you book."

The code shows in the session's Promo row. See Promotions and promo codes for every option.

Include sessions in a pass

Create or open a pass

Go to Offerings → Passes and create a pass type, for example a 10-week pass.

Attach the session

Use Attach Offering, choose the session type, and set the price pass holders pay. Set it to zero to make the session free with the pass.

Sell or grant the pass

Clients buy the pass, or you use Grant Pass to give it to someone.

See Passes for setup details.

Good to know

  • Bundles can't be in a pass. Sell bundle sessions separately.
  • Pass holders must activate their pass before they can use it to book.
  • A promo can cover several offerings at once, for example your membership and your sessions.

Don't change the session's own price to run a short sale. Everyone sees the new price, and you have to remember to change it back. A promo code with an expiry date does this for you.

What your members see

  • Promo code: on the Confirm Booking page they click Have a promo code?, enter the code and click Apply. The order then shows Promo code with the code and the amount taken off, and a lower Total. A code that can't be used shows why under the field.
  • Pass: on the Confirm Booking page, Pay with lists each pass that covers the time they picked ("Your <pass name> · Included" or its pass price) next to Regular price. A pass that hasn't started yet still counts: "Booking starts your <pass name> on <date>."
