Let clients choose what they pay for a session, within a minimum and maximum you set.

Variable pricing turns a session into a sliding scale. You set the range, each client picks the amount that fits their situation.

When to use this

  • You want your work to be accessible to people on different incomes.
  • You offer community or donation-based sessions.
  • You want to learn what people value your session at before fixing a price.

Set it up

Open the pricing

For a new session: Offerings → 1:1 Sessions → New Session Type, then choose Paid. For an existing one: open it and click Edit, then choose Paid under Pricing.

Turn on Variable pricing

Switch on Variable pricing ("Let customers choose how much to pay within a range").

Set the range

Enter a Minimum Price and a Maximum Price in USD, for example $40 to $120. The maximum must be higher than the minimum.

Save

Click Next (new session) or Update (existing session). The Price on the detail page now shows the range with a Variable badge.

Explain the scale

In Edit → Description, tell clients how to choose, for example: "Pay what feels right. $40 if money is tight, $80 is the standard rate, $120 helps fund lower-cost spots."

Good to know

  • The minimum must be above zero. For a fully free session, choose Free instead.
  • Suggest a middle amount. Most people anchor on a number you give them. Naming a standard rate in the description helps.
  • Revenue varies. Keep an eye on what people choose in Business → Payouts & Transactions and adjust the range if needed.

Switching Variable pricing off clears the range. Switching it back on means entering the minimum and maximum again.

What your members see

The session shows a price range, such as $40–$120 per session, with "You choose the amount". After picking a time they click Continue. On the Confirm Booking page a slider, Choose what feels right, lets them set their amount within your range before they click Confirm & Pay.
