How to close your portal for good: the closing checklist, what you settle first, and what happens to your members and history.

Beta. This is rolling out and may not be on for your account yet.

You can close your portal from Settings → Portal Settings, in the Close portal section at the bottom. Only the portal owner sees it. Collaborators can't close a portal.

Closing isn't instant. Your portal is first put on hold while you settle everything it still owes your members, you and Soul. It closes once every item on its closing checklist is settled and signed off.

When to use this

  • You're retiring or moving your practice and won't use this portal again.
  • You want your portal's address freed up.

If you only want to stop being found by new people, closing is more than you need. Contact support@bringsoul.life instead.

Close your portal

Close the portal

In Settings → Portal Settings, find Close this portal and click Start closing. Pick a reason, add a note if you like, and click Close portal. Your portal is hidden from the public and discovery straight away and stops taking new purchases, bookings and sign-ups, including free ones. Your existing members keep their access.

Review the checklist

Click Continue to review. The checklist groups everything your portal still owes. Needs action lists what's still open, with the count, what settles it, and a Go to button for the page where you do it, for example Customers & Subscribers for active memberships, or Refund Requests for refunds waiting on you.

Sign off each item

Once an item has nothing left open, it moves to Ready to sign off. Click Sign off, and Soul adds a note saying when you checked it. Click Edit note on a signed-off item to change the note, or Undo to take it back. When two or more items are ready, Sign off all signs them off together. Lifetime purchases and your Stripe balance can't be checked by Soul, so tick the statement under each before you sign it off.

Delete the portal

When everything is signed off, click Delete followed by your portal's name at the bottom of the page, type the name to confirm, and click Delete again. Soul checks everything once more first. If something reopened, the portal stays closed and the item moves back to Needs action.

To come back to the review later, open Settings → Portal Settings. Close this portal shows Closed, waiting to be deleted and how many items are left. Click Continue review.

Closing can't be undone. Your portal is removed and its address is released for anyone to use.

Reopen your portal

Until it's deleted, click Reopen portal on the review page or in Close this portal on Portal Settings. Your portal returns to discovery and takes purchases again. Sign-offs collected so far are discarded.

Good to know

  • Payments, payouts and member history stay on record after your portal closes.
  • If you asked to delete your whole Soul account, its portals are put on hold the same way, and your account is deleted once the last one closes. Reopening the portal also cancels that account deletion. See Delete your account.
