Find anyone who has bought from you or subscribed, see who is active or has left, export your list, add or invite people, and cancel a membership.

Business → Customers & Subscribers ("Everyone who's purchased or subscribed.") is your paying audience: people who have bought something or hold a membership. Leads who haven't bought yet are in Audience → People instead.

When to use this

  • You want to know how many active subscribers you have, or who cancelled.
  • You're looking up one person before a session.
  • You need your paying list as a spreadsheet.
  • You want to add a customer by hand or invite subscribers.
  • A member asked you to cancel their membership.

Find people

Pick a view

Use the buttons above the table: All, Non-subscribers (customers without a membership), Active subscribers or Past subscribers.

Search or filter

Type in Search by name, email, or phone…. Click Filter to narrow by Source (where they came from, for example a form, an event registration, a session, a membership or a manual add), Activity (something they've done, such as booking a session or opening an email), Community membership (Everyone, Community members, Not community members) or an exact Tag. Clear all resets it.

Open a person

Click a row to open their profile. Hover a name for a quick card with their relationship, when they were added, their source and phone.

The table shows Name, Email, Phone, Relationship and Source. Click Name, Email or Relationship to sort.

RelationshipMeans
SubscriberHas a portal membership
CustomerHas bought something, such as a paid ticket, session, course or content

Everyone here has completed a purchase, registration, booking or enrollment, or was added by you. People who only filled in a form or were imported as leads stay in Audience → People until they buy. See How people join your list.

On a person's profile

Their profile shows how they found you, their contact details, private notes, their subscription, purchases, sessions, form answers and community activity. The ⋯ menu has Edit Contact & Profile, Edit Source & Tags, Block from Portal, Report Person and Delete Member. See View a person's profile.

Cancel someone's membership

Open their profile

Find them under Active subscribers and click their row.

Cancel the subscription

On Overview, in the Subscription section, click Cancel subscription. It only shows while their membership is active.

Confirm

Soul asks "Are you sure you want to cancel this subscription? This action cannot be undone and the subscriber will lose access to your exclusive content." Click Yes, Cancel Subscription.

They move to Past subscribers and lose access to anything set to Subscribers Only. See when a subscription ends for what they keep. Cancelling doesn't refund past payments; to refund the last payment, see Refund a member. Members can also cancel their own membership from their Soul account.

To remove someone entirely, use ⋯ → Delete Member. You can tick Cancel their active subscription there too. Deleting removes them from your community and lists and stops all emails and messages, and can't be undone from your dashboard. See Block, report or delete someone.

Export your list

When the list has people in it, click ⋯ → Export CSV at the top of the page. You get everyone matching your current view, search and filters, not just the page you're on.

Tip: choose Active subscribers before exporting to get just your current members, or Past subscribers for a win-back list. For a record of payments rather than people, use Export transactions for bookkeeping.

Add or invite people

Click Add/Invite ("Choose how you want to add people to your audience."):

OptionUse it to
Invite subscribersSend membership invites people claim to become subscribers, one at a time or in bulk. Great for founding members and migrating from another platform.
Add customersRecord someone who bought from you outside Soul, with name, email, phone, birthday, address and tags. They're added as a Customer with Source Manual. See Add a contact.

View Invites (with a count when you have some) opens Subscriber Invites, where you resend or cancel invites. See Track your invites.

Welcome new subscribers

Above the table, the "Welcome new subscribers automatically" banner ("Send a friendly welcome email whenever someone subscribes to your portal.") sets up a welcome email in one click. It disappears once you have one.

Below the list, Portal subscription automations ("Manage what happens when a customer's portal subscription becomes active.") lists the rules that run when someone subscribes: sending them an email or a form. See Send a welcome email to new subscribers.

Good to know

  • Your Community member count is different. Community members are people in your community, which may include people who don't pay, and paying members who haven't joined it.
  • Cancelled subscribers stay in your list as Past subscribers but lose access. Soul doesn't notify you when someone cancels yet; check Past subscribers or the Churn Rate in Analytics.
  • Active subscribers here matches Active Subscribers on Analytics.
  • Your list is yours. Soul never sells your or your members' data.
