Share materials and recordings
Give members files they can keep and recordings of past gatherings, for everyone or for one circle.
Materials is "Everything your community can return to: recordings of past gatherings, shared files, and the words that welcome each new member." It has two tabs: Files and Recordings. (Welcome steps now live in Onboarding.)
When to use this
- You want to share a welcome guide, meditation or worksheet with members.
- You want members to catch up on a gathering they missed.
- You want a resource only one circle can see.
Share a file
Open Files
Go to Community → Materials and open the Files tab.
Choose who can see it
In the sharing menu above the upload area, pick All members, or one of your circles.
Upload
Drop your file in the upload area, or click to choose one. PDF, audio, image or markdown, up to 50 MB each.
Adjust later
You can also attach an existing file to a circle from the circle's page with Attach a material.
Recordings of gatherings
Gatherings held in the Live audio room are recorded while the room is open. After you click End the room, the recording appears on the Recordings tab once it's ready ("Preparing playback…" shows while it's processing). The newest one is marked Latest. A recording from a circle's gathering is marked Held in a circle and follows that circle's access.
Gatherings on an External link (Zoom, Meet) aren't recorded by Soul. Record them in that tool and upload the file here.
Tips
- Use clear, member-facing titles, not file names like
final_v3.pdf. - Keep circle material in the circle. Choose the smallest audience that fits.
- Watch your storage. A bar at the top of Materials shows how much space you've used.
- Too large? If a file is over 50 MB you'll see "That file is too large." Compress it, or share it as a Content Library item instead.
What your members see
Members open the Library in your community to find the files and recordings shared with them. Files shared with a circle only show to that circle's members.
