Share a reflection with your whole community or one circle, reply to members and keep the feed tidy.

The Posts page holds "Recent reflections and announcements from your community. You always see who posted." Use it to start conversations, reply to members and look after the feed.

When to use this

  • You want to share a reflection, prompt or update with members inside the community.
  • You want to speak to one circle only.
  • You want to reply to a member or remove a post that doesn't belong.

A community post stays inside your community. To email people or post on your portal's Community Notes, send an announcement instead.

Start a post

Go to Community → Posts and click New post. The "Create a community post" dialog opens.

Write it

Add a Title (optional) and your Post ("What would you like to share?"). Write in plain sentences with blank lines between paragraphs. Paste links as they are.

Choose where it goes

Pick Whole community, or one of your circles. A circle post is only seen by that circle's members.

Post anonymously (optional)

Tick Post anonymously if you want. "Members will see Anonymous; you can still identify the post in Luminary."

Publish and follow the conversation

Click Publish post. Open any post to read replies, Reply to a comment or Add a comment of your own.

Find and filter posts

At the top of Posts:

  • Visible, Removed and All tabs, with counts.
  • A Circle filter: All circles, Community-wide or one circle.
  • Sort by Newest first or Oldest first.

Posts marked Anonymous to members or Announcement carry a badge.

Remove a post or reply

Open the post, then choose Remove… on the post or Remove on a reply. Add a reason if you like ("optional, kept for your records"). "It will be hidden from members. The author and your reason are kept for your records." A removed reply leaves the conversation around it in place. Removed posts move to the Removed tab.

Tips

  • Formatting won't show. The feed shows text exactly as written, so **bold**, headings and bullet markers appear as plain characters.
  • There's no pin for posts. To put something in front of everyone, send an announcement or pin a question on the Q&A board.
  • Hold posts for review by writing a moderation policy in Community → Settings → Content moderation. Posts that may cross the line wait in Moderation until you decide.
  • Removing a member doesn't remove their posts. Remove the posts themselves if you need them gone.

What your members see

Members see your post in their community feed (or in the circle you chose), with your name or Anonymous. They can heart it, reply, Save privately, copy its link or Report it. They can filter the feed by Everyone, Mine, Saved or Liked, and edit their own replies for 15 minutes.
