Write and publish an article

Write a reflection, guide or practice directly in Soul with the article editor, then share it free or paid.

When to use this

  • You want to publish writing (a guide, a reflection, a recipe, a practice script) without making a PDF.
  • You want members to read it on the page, on any device.
  • You want to sell or gate a written piece like any other item.

Create the article

Go to Offerings → Content Library. Click Add Content on the Content tab, or Add → Content inside a collection. Choose Article: "After creating, you can write and edit the article content directly on the content page using the rich text editor."

Add the details

Enter a Title, a short Description and a Thumbnail (optional). Choose Visibility, then click Save.

Set price and form

Go through the Pricing and Form steps, or leave them empty for a free article. Click Done.

Write it

Open the item page. Under Article Content, click Edit Article. You'll see "Editing Article" with a full editor. Write your piece, add headings, lists and links, and drop in images. A starter template is filled in, so replace it with your own text.

Save

Click Save. You'll see "Article saved successfully". Click Edit Article any time to change it.

Tips

  • Write first, publish later. Use Move to Draft from the card's ⋯ menu while you write, then Publish when it's ready. See Prepare content as a draft.
  • Articles can't be downloaded by members. They read them on your portal.
  • Short and timely? Use an announcement. For updates, reflections and news, an announcement reaches members in their feed. Use an article for something people come back to.
  • Soul AI can draft it. Ask Soul AI to write an article from your outline or notes. It saves it as a draft for you to review.

What your members see

The item page shows the thumbnail, title, description and your article in full, nicely formatted. If it's paid, gated or private, they see that step first.
