Forms & Funnels
Leads and responses
See who submitted a form, read their answers, add notes, export to CSV and follow up.
Every submission is saved on the form that collected it. Lead forms collect Leads; custom forms collect Responses. Open a form from Audience → Forms & Funnels and click the second tab.
When to use this
- You want to see who signed up for your freebie or newsletter.
- You're reviewing intake answers before a session, or applications before accepting someone.
- You need a spreadsheet of sign-ups, or want to note something about a lead.
Leads (lead forms)
The Leads tab lists everyone who submitted, 10 per page, with "Showing [n] of [total] leads" above the table. A note reminds you: "Leads here are specific to this form."
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name | Their name. Click it to open the lead's page. |
| Their email. Click it to start an email to them. | |
| Phone | The number they gave. |
| Date | When they signed up. |
| Actions | Open the lead, edit their details, or delete them. |
What you can do:
- Download as CSV: a spreadsheet with First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone Number and Created At.
- Add Lead: add someone by hand (First Name, Last Name and Email are required; Phone Number is optional). Useful for sign-ups you took on paper or at an event.
- Edit: fix a typo in someone's name, email or phone (Update Lead).
- Delete: removes the lead from this form after you confirm.
If no one has signed up yet you see "No leads yet", with Add Lead.
Phone numbers need a country code, for example +14155552671. A number without one is rejected.
A lead's page
Click a lead's name to open their page. It shows:
- "Lead Submission" with the form's name.
- Submitted (the date) and Days since submission.
- Contact details: Email Address, Phone Number ("Not provided" if blank), Last Updated if you edited them, and Lead ID.
- Creator Note: click Edit, write a private note ("Add a note about this lead..."), and click Save. The lead never sees it.
Responses (custom forms)
The Responses tab, "Review who filled out your form and follow up when it counts," shows a table you can sort and search.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Respondent | Their name, if the form collected it. |
| Their email, if collected. | |
| Status | Draft (started but not sent), submitted or completed. |
| Submitted | Date and time they sent it. |
| Your first two questions | Their answers, on a wide screen, so you can scan without opening each one. |
For each response:
- See Answers: opens Response Details with their name (or "Anonymous"), email, date, how many answers, and every answer in order. It also offers Schedule 1:1 Session.
- Schedule: jumps to scheduling a 1:1 session with their name and email filled in. Handy for intake and discovery forms.
- Delete: removes the response after you confirm.
Search responses… matches names, emails and answer text. Export Responses downloads every response with all answers as a CSV.
Until someone submits, you see "No responses yet."
Where else submissions show up
- Audience → People: anyone who gave an email (or, on a lead form, a phone number) becomes a person in your audience, with a form submission on their activity. Lead-form sign-ups who received a free download also show that they claimed it.
- Announcements: when you send one, choose "Leads from [form] form" to reach everyone who signed up through one lead form. See Send an announcement to a segment.
- Offering forms: answers to a form required before a session, event or purchase also appear on that form's Responses tab.
Follow up
| You want to… | Do this |
|---|---|
| Email everyone from a lead form | Send an announcement to "Leads from [form] form" |
| Email each person automatically | Use the form's Automation tab (custom forms) |
| Book a call with someone who applied | Schedule on their response |
| Keep track of where a conversation stands | Add a Creator Note on the lead, or a note in People |
Good to know
- Soul doesn't email you when someone submits. Check this tab, or People, regularly. A recurring calendar reminder helps.
- Anonymous responses have no name or email, so you can't follow up on them.
- Deleting a lead or response can't be undone. Export first if you might need it.
