Give someone a pass for free with Grant Pass, so they get pass-holder prices without paying.

Use Grant Pass to hand a pass to a specific person: a scholarship, a thank-you, a prize, or a replacement for someone whose pass ran out at a bad time. They don't pay anything.

When to use this

  • Scholarship or community-care places.
  • Gifts for a client, a collaborator or a giveaway winner.
  • Making things right for a member who missed out.

Before you start

  • The pass needs a price set in its Pricing card. You choose that price when granting, but nobody is charged.
  • The person must be a customer in your audience (someone who has bought from you) and have a Soul account. Leads don't appear in the search.

Steps

Open the pass holders page

Offerings → Passes → your pass → Manage Users. This opens User Passes.

Click Grant Pass

Click Grant Pass at the top right.

Pick the person

Under Person, search by name or email and click them. If you see "This person hasn't signed up yet, no account to grant a pass to.", they need to create an account on your portal first.

Choose the pass price and grant

Pick a Pass Price from the list (it's only for your records) and click Grant Pass. You'll see "Pass granted".

Let them know

Soul doesn't email them about the pass. Send them a message with the pass link (click Share on the pass page) and ask them to activate it when they're ready.

Good to know

  • A granted pass starts as Not Activated, like a bought one. The holder chooses when to start it. To start it for them right away, click Activate on their row.
  • It uses the pass's current duration.
  • The Transaction column shows — because there was no payment.

Granting doesn't send a notification. If you don't tell the person, they may never activate their pass.

What your members see

The pass appears on your pass page as "Not yet activated", with Activate Now and Start on a specific date. They can also just book: booking an attached session with the pass starts it. On attached sessions, the Confirm Booking page offers the pass under Pay with, at its pass price.
