Add a meeting link for an online event, or a venue, map and directions for an in-person one.

You'll end up with the right logistics on your event page, so registrants know exactly how to join or where to go.

When to use this

  • You're hosting on Zoom, Google Meet or another video tool.
  • You're meeting at a studio, retreat center, park or home.
  • You need to switch an event from in person to online (or back).

Steps

Choose Online Event

In Create New Event (or Edit Details), under Location & Format, pick Online Event.

Add your meeting link

Paste your Zoom, Google Meet or other link into Meeting Link (optional). You can leave it empty and add it later.

Save

Click Create & Publish Event or Save & Publish Event. The Overview tab shows the link under Online Meeting Link.

Soul doesn't create Zoom links for events. Zoom is connected for 1:1 sessions only. Create the meeting in Zoom or Google Meet yourself and paste the link.

Tips

  • Add the link before you publish if you can. Online events feel more trustworthy with the link ready, and you won't forget it.
  • Use a recurring meeting link for a series. One link that works for every date saves you updating the event each week.
  • Timezone matters more online. Your audience may be spread out. Set the Event Timezone, and consider writing "6pm PT / 9pm ET" in the description.
  • Use a real venue, not just a city. Searching for the venue gives members a map pin and the full address.
  • Changing the format later? Edit the event and switch tabs. Then send a blast so registrants know.

What your members see

Online events: the event page shows Online, with "The link arrives with your ticket." Once registered, their ticket page has a Join Online button. If you haven't added the link yet, the ticket page still says "The link arrives with your ticket."

In-person events: once registered, the venue and address, a Location section with Get directions, and your directions line. Before they register, they see the same only if you switched on Show full address before registration. Otherwise they see the city and "The exact place is shared once you register."
