Cap how many people can register, per event or per ticket.

You'll end up with an event that stops taking registrations at the number you choose.

When to use this

  • The room, retreat house or format only fits so many people.
  • You want an intimate group, such as 12 people for a circle.

Set a capacity

There are two places to set limits. Use either or both.

Event limit

Open the event and click Edit Details. Under Event Settings, find Attendance Limit ("Set how many people can attend"). Choose Limited to and enter the number of seats, or keep Unlimited seats. Click Save & Publish Event.

You can also change it on the Registrations tab: click the capacity number (Edit capacity), type the new number, and press Enter.

Ticket limits

On the Tickets tab, edit a ticket and set Capacity (optional). Use this to cap one type, such as 10 VIP seats, while the general ticket stays open.

The number of people who can register is the smaller of the event limit and the total of your ticket capacities. The Registrations tab shows how full you are, ticket by ticket.

Tips

  • Only cap when you must. An unlimited event never turns anyone away.
  • Repeating series: with All Access tickets, the event capacity can't be edited from Registrations: "The seat calculation is automatically managed based on the series." Use ticket capacities instead.
  • When an event fills up, you can raise the capacity, add a second date, or note interested people and add them yourself when a seat opens.

What your members see

When five or fewer seats are left, the event page says how many ("3 left"). When a ticket fills up, it shows Sold out. When the whole event is full, the page says "This event is full" and "Registration is closed.", and no one else can register until a seat opens or you raise the limit.
