Turn videos, articles and files you've already uploaded into course lessons, without uploading them again.

If your material is already in your Content Library, you can bring it into a course in a few clicks: a whole collection at once, a handful of items into one module, or one item at a time.

When to use this

  • You've been sharing recordings or guides in your library and want to package them as a course.
  • Your library is organized in collections that map to course chapters.
  • You want to reuse one video or file in a course lesson.

Import a whole collection

Open the Content builder

Go to Offerings → Courses, open the course, and click the Content builder tab.

Pick the collection

Click Import from Collection: "Select a collection to import as modules". Choose a collection and click Continue.

Check the preview

The preview shows "Create N modules with N lessons":

  • Items sitting directly in the collection become one module, named after the collection.
  • Each sub-collection becomes its own module, named after the sub-collection. Anything nested deeper is pulled into that module.

Choose drafts or published

Tick "Publish all lessons immediately (instead of saving as drafts)" if the lessons are ready for members. Leave it unticked to review them first.

Import

Click Create N Modules. A progress bar shows each lesson as it's created. When it's done you'll see "Import complete!".

Import items into one module

Open the module menu

In the Content builder, click the ⋯ on a module and choose Import Lessons.

Select content

In Select Content to Import, browse your collections or filter by Videos, Audio, Documents and so on. Tick the items you want, then click Select.

Review and import

Preview Import lists each item and the lesson it will become. Tick "Publish all lessons immediately" if you like, then click Import N Lessons.

How library items become lessons

Library itemBecomes
VideoA Video Lesson with the same video and description
ArticleA Page lesson with the article text
ImageA Page lesson with the image and its description
LinkA Page lesson with the link
Audio or documentA Page lesson with the file added as an attachment

The library item's title becomes the lesson title.

Good to know

  • No re-uploading. Lessons use the files already in your library.
  • Lessons are copies. Editing or deleting the library item later doesn't change the lesson, and editing the lesson doesn't change the library item.
  • Set the video duration. Imported video lessons start without a duration. Open each one, enter the Duration and click Save Changes so members see how long it is.
  • Imports can partly fail. If some items don't import, you'll see "Import completed with errors" with the failed items marked. Add those lessons by hand.
  • Library access and course access are separate. Members who buy the course don't get the library items, and people with library access don't get the course.

Once you've checked the course works, you can archive the original library items if you no longer want them sold separately.

What your members see

Ordinary course lessons: a video player for video lessons, a page with text, images and download buttons for everything else.
