People
Export your contacts
Download everyone in People, or just the group you have filtered, as a CSV spreadsheet.
Get your contact list out of Soul as a spreadsheet, whether that's your whole audience for safekeeping or one filtered group for a mail merge.
When to use this
- You want a backup of your list.
- You want to work with a group in a spreadsheet, or load it into another tool.
- You need a count or a breakdown that's easier in a spreadsheet, like total spent per person.
Steps
Set up the view you want
In Audience → People, pick a tab, Subscriber status, search and filters. For everyone, use All people with no search or filters. See Find and filter people.
Export
Click Export CSV at the top of the page. It reads "Exporting…" while the file is built.
Open the file
The CSV downloads (or opens in a new tab, depending on your browser). Open it in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.
You get every person who matches your view, not just the 10 on the current page, newest first.
What's in the file
| Column | Contains |
|---|---|
| Name | Their name. |
| Their email, if you have it. | |
| Phone Number | Their phone, with country code, if you have it. |
| Acquisition Source | How they first arrived, written as one word, for example form, eventRegistration, creatorSubscriber, community or manual. |
| Tags | Their tags, separated by commas. |
| Creation Date | When they were added, in your portal's time zone. |
| Lifecycle | lead or customer. |
| Subscription | active, past or none. |
| Badge | The Relationship pill: lead, customer or subscriber. |
| Community Member | Yes or No. |
| Total Spent | Everything they've paid you through Soul. People without a Soul account show $0.00. |
Notes, custom attributes, birthdays and addresses aren't included.
Good to know
- Export CSV only appears once there's at least one person in the list.
- On Business → Customers & Subscribers, Export CSV is under the ⋯ button.
- Deleted people aren't in exports.
- Exporting works even without an active Soul plan, so your list is always yours to take.
- For a record of payments rather than people, use the Transactions export in Payouts & Transactions.
- If you see "Failed to export community members", try again in a moment, or narrow the view and export in parts.
