Make your membership end on its own after a set time, or sell access for a single payment.

Not every membership should renew forever. Run a 3-month program, or sell lifetime or limited access for one payment.

When to use this

  • You run a cohort or program with a clear end, such as a 12-week container.
  • You want members to pay monthly for a set number of months, then stop.
  • You'd rather charge once for access, for life or for a number of days.

Option A: a subscription that ends on its own

Open your tier

Go to Business → Pricing. Use Pricing Tiers (click Switch to Tiers if needed).

Set the price and billing

Enter the Base monthly price and turn on Monthly billing (or Yearly billing).

Choose Fixed duration

In the billing option, under Subscription Duration, choose Fixed duration. Pick the length under Duration (months): 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months or Custom (1 to 12). For yearly billing, enter Duration (years).

"Subscription will automatically cancel after this period."

Save

Click Save Changes.

Option B: a one-time payment

Turn off subscriptions

On the tier card, turn off Monthly billing and Yearly billing. One-time can't be combined with them.

Turn on One-time purchase

Turn on One-time purchase and enter the Price.

Choose how long access lasts

Under Access duration, choose Lifetime access, or Limited duration and enter Access duration (days). "Access expires this many days after purchase."

Save

Click Save Changes.

Tips

  • Say when it ends. Put the length of the program in your bio, which shows at the top of your pricing page, so nobody's surprised when access stops. The plan cards don't mention a fixed duration on a subscription.
  • Offer a payment plan and a pay-in-full option as two tiers: a 3-month fixed-duration monthly tier, and a one-time tier.
  • Need a fixed start date? Use a free trial with a Trial End Date set to your start date, so billing begins when the program does.

Free-trial promo codes don't work on one-time purchases. And like any price change, switching to fixed duration or one-time applies to new members only.

What your members see

A subscription with a fixed duration looks like any other plan on your pricing page. It renews as normal until the end of the period, then cancels automatically. A one-time plan's card shows the price with "One payment, no renewal", or "N days of access, no renewal" for limited access. They click Continue · $X, then pay once with Pay $X, and keep access for life or for the days you set.
