Landing Pages
Add a form to a landing page
Embed one of your Soul forms in a landing page so sign-ups and answers are saved, and choose a stacked, single-row or one-question-at-a-time layout.
A landing page can hold a real form: one of your forms from Forms & Funnels, styled to match the page. Every submission is saved to that form's Leads or Responses tab, exactly as if it came from the form's own link.
When to use this
- An opt-in page for a free guide or a newsletter.
- An application or enquiry form on a program's sales page.
- A launch list for something you haven't launched yet.
A form that's only part of the design (boxes and a button drawn into the page) saves nothing. Always add forms with Add form, or ask Soul to add one of your forms. If people "submitted" a page form and nothing arrived, this is usually why.
Have the form ready
Create the form first in Audience → Forms & Funnels: a lead form for name and email sign-ups, a custom form for your own questions. See Create and manage forms.
Open the Edit panel
In Audience → Landing Pages, select the page and click Edit. To place the form in a particular spot, first click the block it should follow.
Pick the form
Under Add form, click Pick a form. In Embed a Soul Form ("Choose an existing form to embed in your landing page. Submissions will appear in your form responses."), search or scroll, and click the form. Each one is labeled Lead form or Custom form. No form yet? Click Create a new form.
Choose a layout
Click the form on the page to select it, and pick a Layout in the Edit panel (see below).
Style it
Set Form text, Button color and Align content so the form fits the section.
Test it
Publish (or publish your changes), open the live page in a private window, and submit the form. Check the submission on the form's Leads or Responses tab.
Layouts
| Layout | Looks like | Available for |
|---|---|---|
| Stacked | Fields one under another, with the button below | All forms |
| Inline (single row) | Fields and button side by side, like a newsletter strip | Lead forms |
| Guided (one question at a time) | One question per step, like a conversational survey | Custom forms |
For a lead form, Fields lets you choose which of Email, First name, Last name and Phone to show. Email is always included. An Inline form shows just Email unless you add more.
Asking Soul is quickest: "Add my 'Stay in touch' form to the footer as a single-row newsletter sign-up" or "Make the application form one question at a time." Soul uses your real form and styles it to match the page.
Change or remove the form
Select the form on the page:
- Change form swaps in a different form, keeping the spot and style.
- The trash icon (or Remove on the floating toolbar) takes it off the page. The form itself, and its submissions, stay in Forms & Funnels.
If the form has been deleted, the panel shows "This form is no longer available" and visitors see "Unable to load form." Pick another form.
Editing the questions
The page always shows the form's current questions. To add, remove or reorder questions, edit the form in Forms & Funnels; the landing page updates on its own, with no need to re-add the form.
What visitors see
The form, in your page's colors and fonts, with your button. After they submit, the form is replaced by a check mark, "Thank you!" (or your lead form's thank-you text) and "Your response has been submitted." If something goes wrong, a message appears above the form and their answers stay filled in.
If the lead form has a free download on its Landing Page tab, it's emailed to them as usual.
Where submissions go
- The form's Leads tab (lead forms) or Responses tab (custom forms).
- Audience → People, as with any form.
- Any automation on a custom form runs as usual.
