Announcements
Share an announcement
Copy an announcement link, post it to X, Facebook or LinkedIn, and pin it to the top of your portal with Highlights.
An announcement doesn't have to travel by email. Every published announcement has its own page on your portal that you can link to anywhere.
When to use this
- You want to post your news on social media or in a group chat.
- You want to send the link yourself, for example in a WhatsApp message.
- You want one announcement to sit at the top of your portal.
Open the announcement
On Audience → Announcements, click the card.
Open the share menu
Click the ⋯ button next to Make Public / Make Private and Edit.
Pick where
Choose Copy link ("Link copied to clipboard"), Share to X, Share to Facebook, Share to LinkedIn, or Share via device to use your phone's or computer's own share sheet.
Who can open the link
| Visibility | Who can open the link |
|---|---|
| Public | Anyone. |
| Unlisted | Anyone with the link. It isn't listed on your portal. |
| Private | Only your subscribers, signed in. |
| Draft | Nobody but you. |
A post whose broadcast is still scheduled can't be opened by your audience until its send time.
Pin it to the top of your portal
Add the announcement to your portal's Highlights so it's one of the first things visitors see. In My Portal → Design → Sections, switch on Highlights, click Manage highlights, then Add Highlight, and pick it from the Announcements tab. See Feature and reorder offerings.
Tips
- Add a thumbnail before you share. It's the image people see in social previews. See Write an announcement.
- Use Unlisted for a link you only want to give to certain people, for example a private group.
- Turn on Community Notes. The section in My Portal lists all your public announcements so visitors can scroll back through them.
What people see
The announcement's page on your portal: title, body, images and audio. If they can't open it, for example a Private post and they aren't subscribed, it isn't shown to them.
