Convert recommendations into content items, on their own or grouped in a collection, with Migrate to Content.

Migrate to Content turns recommendations into items in your Content Library. Each one becomes a web-page item that links to the same address, with the same title, description, image and visibility.

When to use this

  • You've been using recommendations for things you made yourself, such as your own articles or videos hosted elsewhere.
  • You want to group links into a collection, or put them alongside your own content.
  • You want to use Content Library features, such as collections and pricing, for a set of links.

If you just want to recommend someone else's work, keep it as a recommendation.

Migrate

Start

Go to Audience → Recommendations and click Migrate to Content. The button shows once you have at least one recommendation.

Pick what to move

Tick the recommendations to migrate, or Select All. The count below shows how many you've picked. Click Next: Choose Destination.

Choose where they go

  • Individual Content Items: "Create separate content items for each recommendation in your main Content Library."
  • Add to Collection: "Group the recommendations together in a collection." Then Choose Collection from your existing ones, or Create New Collection and type a name.

Migrate

Click Migrate (it shows how many items, for example Migrate 3 Items). Use Back to change your selection first.

What happens next

  • Each recommendation becomes a free content item in your Content Library, linking to the same address. It keeps the title, description, image and Public or Private setting.
  • With Add to Collection, the items are added to that collection. A new collection is created public and free, with a description listing what was migrated. Edit it afterwards to set a price or cover.
  • The original recommendations are deleted. They disappear from your Recommendations list and the Recommendations section of your portal.

Migration can't be undone. Links you shared to the old recommendations stop working, and moving items back means adding them as recommendations again by hand. Make sure the Contents or Collections section of your portal is switched on, so the migrated items show.

Tips

  • Try it with one recommendation first to see how it looks in your Content Library.
  • After migrating into a collection, open it in Offerings → Content Library to add a cover image and reorder items.
  • If one recommendation fails to move, the rest still go ahead. Check your list afterwards: anything still there wasn't migrated.
