Email an idea to a suggested co-creator who is not on Soul yet, or bring in someone of your own choosing.

Not everyone on an idea is on Soul, and the right person for an idea might not be the one Soul suggested. Two buttons on the idea page cover both.

People Soul suggests who aren't on Soul yet show as practitioners Soul found from public information. If Soul doesn't have their name yet, they appear as "A practitioner Soul found".

Invite them

Open the idea

From Matches, open the idea with Get Details.

Choose who

Click Reach out next to a suggested person, or Invite someone else and fill in Their email and Their name (optional).

Add a note (optional)

Under Add a personal note, write why them, or start from Why them, What it is, Just talk or Keep it short.

Tailor or send

When the idea's write-up is finished, the button reads Next: tailor the idea →. It takes you to your own editable copy of the idea, a pitch, so you can shape it for this person first. See Tailor and send a pitch.

If the write-up isn't ready, click Send invitation to send the idea as it is.

What happens next

If the person…Then
Is already on SoulYour conversation opens straight away in your inbox.
Isn't on SoulThey get an email, "An invitation to co-create", with your note, the idea and See the invitation. The idea page shows "Sent. They have until … to answer."
AcceptsThey join Co-Creation (if they haven't) and a conversation opens between you. You get an email that they accepted.
Says No thanksYou get an email that they passed. Nothing else happens.
Chooses Never invite me againThey won't hear from Soul again, and their open invitations are declined.
Doesn't answerThe invitation expires after 21 days. The person's row shows "Invitation expired", and you can Reach out again.

The status shows under each person on the idea page: "Invitation sent …", "They accepted", "They declined", "Invitation expired".

Limits

To protect people from unsolicited email:

  • You can have one open invitation to each person.
  • Each person can only receive a limited number of invitations a year, from everyone combined.
  • If Soul can't write to someone right now, you'll see "They cannot be written to right now. Try again in a few days."
  • You need a finished Co-Creation profile to invite anyone.

Tips

  • Personal notes get answers. Someone who's never heard of Soul is far more likely to open an invitation that says why you thought of them.
  • Tailor the idea first when you can. A pitch written for one person reads better than an idea written for someone else.
  • Want to invite someone to Co-Creation in general, not to one idea? Use your invite link. It also earns you an extra match.
