# Getting started as a member

> How Soul works for members: your Soul home, Ask Soul, and the portals of the Luminaries you follow.

Soul has two kinds of places:

| A Luminary's portal | `bringsoul.life/portal/<their-handle>`, or their own domain | Everything a Luminary offers: sessions, events, courses, content, Paths, their community and membership.        |

One Soul account works everywhere. Sign in once and you're signed in to every portal.

Your account menu (your photo or initial) holds My Profile, Purchases, Billing, Settings and Log Out. Until you've filled in your profile, it also shows Complete Profile.

**Note:** 
Inside a portal, links to Messages, Activity, Purchases, Profile and Settings take you back to
your Soul home, because they cover your whole account rather than one Luminary.
