# Portal Settings

> Change your portal's name, web address and timezone, and attach a lead form.

[Settings → Portal Settings](https://portal.bringsoul.life/settings) (_"Update your Soul Portal name, address, and timezone."_) holds the basics that apply everywhere on your portal.

## When to use this

- You're setting up and want to choose your portal address.
- Event and session times look wrong to visitors.
- You want a lead form attached to your portal.

**Step 1: Open Portal Settings**

Go to [Settings → Portal Settings](https://portal.bringsoul.life/settings).

**Step 2: Set your portal name**

Soul Portal Name is shown at the top of your portal and as the sender name on your emails.

**Step 3: Choose your address**

Your Custom Soul Portal Address is your handle, the part after `bringsoul.life/portal/`. Use
your name or brand, such as `yoga-with-sarah`. Under it you'll see *"Your page will be:"* with
the full link; click it to copy.

**Step 4: Set your timezone**

Portal Timezone is *"The timezone displayed to customers on your booking page and used as the
default for session scheduling."* Set it to where you work.

**Step 5: Attach a lead form (optional)**

Under Lead Form, turn on Include Form and choose a form. No forms yet? Click Create your first
form →.

**Step 6: Save**

Click Save Changes. Changes apply to your portal once you save.

## Address rules

- Letters, numbers, periods, underscores and hyphens. No spaces.
- If it's taken: _"This web address is already taken. Please try a different one."_
- If you have a live [custom domain](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/portal/custom-domain), the preview shows your domain, and your `bringsoul.life` address keeps working too.

**Warning:** 
Treat your address as permanent once you've shared it. Changing it breaks every link you've
posted, with no automatic redirect. If you must change it after launch, email
[support@bringsoul.life](mailto:support@bringsoul.life) first.

## Good to know

- Your logo, banner, bio and featured video are set in [My Portal → Design](https://portal.bringsoul.life/portal), not here. See [My Portal](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/portal/overview).
- If a share button gives an empty link, your address isn't set yet.
- Event times wrong on your portal? Check both the event's own timezone and Portal Timezone, then open the public page to confirm.
- Sending emails from your own email address isn't available yet. Emails come from Soul, with your portal name as the sender.
