# Brand your emails

> Customise the header, footer and title of the emails your announcements send, so they feel like you.

[Settings → Email Settings](https://portal.bringsoul.life/settings/email) (_"Customize header and footer for your announcement emails"_) controls how your announcement emails look in members' inboxes.

## When to use this

- You're about to send your first announcement by email.
- You want a sign-off, your social links or a logo on every email.
- You don't want the default _"Sent with love from Soul"_ footer.

**Step 1: Open Email Settings**

Go to [Settings → Email Settings](https://portal.bringsoul.life/settings/email), or click
Customize Emails on [Audience → Announcements](https://portal.bringsoul.life/announcement). A
live preview sits on the right.

**Step 2: Check the sender name**

Sender Name is the name people see in their inbox. It's your portal name. To change it, update
Soul Portal Name in [Portal Settings](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/settings/portal-settings).

**Step 3: Choose a header**

Under Email Header, choose Use Default (your name and *"Catch the latest post from your
luminary"*), No Header, or Custom and write your own: a greeting, a tagline or your logo.

**Step 4: Choose a footer**

Under Email Footer, choose Use Default (*"Sent with love from Soul"*), No Footer, or Custom:
your sign-off, social links or contact details.

**Step 5: Show or hide the title**

Include Announcement Title puts the announcement's title at the top of the email. It's on by
default.

**Step 6: Save**

Click Save Changes.

## Tips

- Sign off the way you would in person. A warm one-line sign-off in a custom footer makes every email feel personal.
- Add your links to the footer so readers can find your portal, booking page or Instagram.
- Send yourself a test. Subscribe to your own portal with a second email address to see a real announcement.

## Good to know

- These settings apply to Announcement emails. Your welcome and other automated emails are written in each [automation](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/settings/automations).
- Your theme colours carry through to your sign-up flow and emails automatically.
- Sending from your own email address isn't available yet.

## What your members see

Your announcement in their inbox, from your portal name, with your header, the announcement title (if on), your message, and your footer.
