# Create and sell your first pass

> Set up a pass from scratch, attach what it unlocks, and share it so members can buy it.

By the end of this guide you'll have a pass on your portal that members can buy, activate and use to book your sessions or events at a pass-holder price.

## When to use this

- You're setting up your first pass.
- You want a checklist so nothing is missing before you share the link.

## Steps

**Step 1: Create the pass**

Go to [Offerings → Passes](https://portal.bringsoul.life/passes) and click Create Pass (or Create First Pass if you have none yet). Fill in:
- Name, e.g. *"Spring Coaching Pass"*.
- Description: who it's for and what's included.
- Cover Image: upload one, or click Use image URL instead.

Click Create Pass. The pass opens in your list.

**Step 2: Set how long it lasts**

Open the pass, click the ⋯ menu and choose Edit. Under Duration, enter days, hrs and min, e.g. `90` days for about three months. Click Save.

Leave all three at 0 if the pass should never expire.

**Step 3: Set the pass price**

In the Pricing card, click Add Price, enter the Regular Price, and click Save Changes. Use $0 for a free pass.

**Step 4: Attach what it unlocks**

In the Offerings card, click Attach Offering.
- On the Session tab, tick a session type, then click Free or type an amount and click Set.
- On the Event tab, tick an event and set a price for each ticket you want to include.

Click Done (N offerings to attach).

**Step 5: Show it on your portal and share it**

Turn on the Passes section in your [portal](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/portal/overview) so visitors can find it. Then click Share on the pass page to copy its link, `https://bringsoul.life/portal/<your-handle>/passes/<pass-id>`, and post it wherever you promote.

**Done:** 
Before you share, open the link in a private window. You should see the duration, the price under
Choose a plan, and every offering under *"Pass holders get access to:"*.

## Tips

- Say in the description how to use the pass: _"Activate it when you're ready to book, then book any coaching call for free for 90 days."_
- If you want to give it to a few people before launch, use [Grant Pass](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/offerings/passes/gift-or-scholarship-pass).
- Set a [refund policy override](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/business/refunds) on the Pricing card if pass refunds should differ from your portal policy.

**Warning:** 
A new pass is Unlimited until you set a duration. If you skip step 2, everyone who buys it keeps
the pass price forever.

## What your members see

They click Buy for $…, pay, and see _"Your pass is ready. It will activate when you book your first session or event."_ The pass starts with their first booking, or earlier if they click Activate Now or Start on a specific date on the pass page. When they book an attached session, the Confirm Booking page picks their pass under Pay with and shows the pass price. When the pass makes the session free, the button reads Book Now.
