# Add a quiz to your course

> Check understanding with a multiple-choice quiz lesson, and see how members did.

A quiz is its own lesson. Members answer multiple-choice questions, see their score and the right answers, and you see every attempt.

## When to use this

- At the end of a module, to help people consolidate what they learned.
- For a certification-style course where you want to see who understood the material.
- As a light self-check or reflection between lessons.

## Steps

**Step 1: Create a quiz lesson**

Open the course's Content builder, click the module, then New Lesson. Choose Quiz, enter a
Lesson Title, and click Create Lesson.

**Step 2: Name and describe the quiz**

Fill in Quiz Title, such as *"Understanding Mindful Breathing"*, and Quiz Description, a line on
what it checks.

**Step 3: Add questions**

Click Add First Question (then Add Question for more). Type the question, fill in at least two
options, and click Add Option for more.

**Step 4: Mark the correct answers**

Tick the box next to each correct option: *"Check the box next to the correct answer(s)"*. Every
question needs at least one correct answer. You can tick more than one: members pick a single
option, and any ticked option counts as right.

**Step 5: Save and publish**

Click Save Changes, then Publish Lesson (or Save & Publish Lesson). You'll see *"Quiz saved and
lesson published successfully!"*.

## Good to know

- Multiple choice only. There are no free-text or rating questions. For open reflections, use a [form](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/audience/forms) or a page lesson with prompts.
- One attempt. After a member submits, they can Review Quiz but not retake it.
- It doesn't block progress. A quiz isn't pass or fail. Submitting it marks the lesson complete, whatever the score.
- Feedback after submitting. Members see their score, and in Review Quiz each question shows Correct! or Incorrect with the right answers highlighted.
- Edit with care. You can change questions after people have taken the quiz, but their past answers were given to the old version.
- Let Soul AI draft it. Ask [Soul AI](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/soul-ai) to _"add a 5-question quiz to module 2 based on its lessons"_, then review the questions before saving.

## See the results

- Quiz Attempts tab on the course: Total Attempts, Submitted and Average Score, a list you can search and filter by Submitted or In Progress, and View Details for each attempt.
- Enrollments tab: open a member's row menu and choose Quiz Attempts to see just theirs.

## What your members see

The quiz title and description, then one question at a time. They choose an answer and click Continue, and Complete Quiz on the last question. _"Quiz completed!"_ appears, the lesson is ticked off, and they see their score. Review Quiz lets them step back through with Previous and Next to see which answers were right.
