# Sell a single recording or download

> Put a one-time price on one meditation, video, workbook or guide so people can buy it from your portal.

## When to use this

- You have one piece worth paying for: a guided journey, a masterclass recording, a workbook.
- You want people to buy it once and keep access.
- You don't need modules, lessons or progress tracking (for that, use a [course](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/offerings/courses/introduction)).

**Step 1: Add the item**

Go to [Offerings → Content Library](https://portal.bringsoul.life/content-library), open the
Content tab and click Add Content. Choose File and upload it, or choose Article to write it in
Soul. Add a Title, a Description that says what's inside and how long it is, and a Thumbnail
(optional).

**Step 2: Choose who can find it**

Set Visibility to Public to list it on your portal. Choose Unlisted if you only want to sell it
through a link you send. Click Save.

**Step 3: Set the price**

On the Pricing step, click Add Price and type the Regular Price. Want subscribers to pay less?
Click Add subscriber price too. Click Save.

**Step 4: Add a form (optional)**

On the Form step, click Add Form if you need answers before someone buys, like an intake
question or a shipping address for a physical extra. Then click Done.

**Step 5: Check it and share**

Open the item page and look at the Settings card to confirm the price. Then use Copy Link from
Quick Actions, or make sure the Contents section is on in [My Portal →
Design](https://portal.bringsoul.life/portal).

## Run a launch discount

On the Pricing step (or later: item page → Pricing → Edit), click Add discount under the price. Choose Percent off (%) or Amount off ($), turn on Expires and pick a date if it's time-limited, then click Apply. Members see the reduced price with the original struck through.

For a code people type at checkout, such as one for your newsletter readers, create a [promo code](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/business/promotions) instead.

## Good to know

- It's a one-time purchase. Content can't be billed monthly, and there's no pay-what-you-want option. For recurring income, use your [membership](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/business/membership-pricing).
- Payouts need Stripe. Make sure your [Stripe account](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/business/stripe-and-payouts) is connected before you sell.
- Change the price any time from the item page. Prices you change don't affect people who already bought.

**Warning:** 
Video and audio can't be downloaded by buyers. They stream them on your portal. PDFs and other
files show a download button. If you're selling a workbook, that's what you want. If you're
selling a recording, buyers listen on your portal.

## What your members see

The item page shows your cover, title, description, _"Premium Content"_, the price and _"One-time purchase for instant access"_. They click Buy Now, sign in if needed, and pay with Pay $X. Once paid, the player, article or download button appears. They can come back to it any time from your portal or their [Purchases](https://bringsoul.life/purchases).
