# Feature content on your portal

> Make sure your items and collections show on your portal, and put your best piece where visitors see it first.

## When to use this

- You published content but it isn't showing on your portal.
- You want a new release, or your free gift, to be the first thing visitors see.
- You want to announce a new drop to your members.

## Show your library on your portal

Your portal has two library sections:

- Contents shows your standalone items (the Content tab).
- Collections shows your collections.

Each one has its own row on your portal home and its own full page.

**Step 1: Open the portal editor**

Go to [My Portal → Design](https://portal.bringsoul.life/portal).

**Step 2: Turn the sections on**

Find Contents and Collections in the section list and switch on the ones you use.

**Step 3: Place them**

Drag the sections into the order you want. Put your library higher if it's your main offer.

**Step 4: Choose who sees each section**

Open a section's settings and pick *"Who can see this section"*: Both Public & Subscribers,
Subscribers Only or Public Only.

**Step 5: Order what's inside**

Back in [Offerings → Content Library](https://portal.bringsoul.life/content-library), use
Reorder on the Collections tab to set the order your collections appear in.

## Pin one piece to Highlights

Highlights is the featured rail at the top of your portal. A content item or a collection can be pinned there.

- In the portal editor, the Add Highlight window doesn't yet offer content items or collections. Ask [Soul AI](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/soul-ai) instead, for example _"Pin my Morning Calm meditation to Highlights."_
- A pinned item keeps its own visibility. A private item is still only for subscribers.
- Deleting the item removes its highlight automatically.

**Tip:** 
A good alternative: write a short [announcement](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/audience/announcements) about the new
piece with its link, and pin that announcement to Highlights from the portal editor (Add Highlight
→ Announcements).

## Announce a new release

When you publish something new, post an [announcement](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/audience/announcements) with the link (use Copy Link on the item). Members see it in their feed, and it keeps the portal feeling alive.

## Good to know

- Publishing doesn't switch a section on. If something isn't showing, check the section first, then that the item isn't a Draft or Unlisted.
- Private items only show to subscribers, and Unlisted items never show in sections.
- Use the Share button at the top of Content Library to copy the link to your Contents or Collections page for your bio or emails.

## What your members see

The Contents and Collections rows on your portal home, each with a card per item (thumbnail, title, short description), and a page listing everything. Pinned items appear in Highlights at the top.
