# Manage, deactivate and redirect promo codes

> Find a code, check its details, turn it off or back on, and point an old code at a new offer.

Once a code is out in the world (in a newsletter, a podcast, a printed flyer) you can't take it back, but you can control what it does. This guide covers everything you can do with a code after creating it.

## When to use this

- A launch is over and the code should stop working.
- A partner's code was shared further than intended.
- You printed a code and want it to give a different offer now.
- You want to check how a code is set up.

## Find a code

Go to [Business → Pricing](https://portal.bringsoul.life/settings/pricing?tab=promotions) → Promotions. Each row shows:

| Code      | The code. Click it to copy it (_"Promo code copied to clipboard!"_).                                                               |
| Benefits  | For example _"30% off • Applies once"_, _"$20.00 off • Applies forever"_, _"14 day trial"_, or _"Redirects to another promotion"_ |
| Offerings | What it applies to                                                                                                                 |
| Status    | Active or Inactive                                                                                                                 |

Use Search promotions… to find a code, and the filters for Status (All statuses, Active, Inactive) and Offering type. Click Code or Status to sort.

## See a code's details

Open the code's ⋯ menu and click View details. Promotion Details shows:

- Promotion Status: whether it's active, with a switch.
- Promotion Code, with a copy button, and its Description.
- Override Promotion: see below.
- Benefit, for example _"Trial until Nov 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM (your local time)"_ for a trial with an end date.
- Applicable Offerings: each offering type with the specific offerings, or _All items_ (_Current portal_ for your membership).
- Purchase Conditions, if you added any.
- Additional Rules, such as _"Expires Nov 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM"_, _"Max uses: 20"_, _"Max uses per user: 1"_, or _"No defined rules"_.

## Turn a code off or on

**Step 1: Deactivate**

In the code's ⋯ menu click Deactivate. Or open View details and turn off the Promotion Status
switch. You'll see *"Promotion deactivated successfully"*.

**Step 2: Reactivate**

Do the same and choose Activate. You'll see *"Promotion activated successfully"*.

An inactive code is _"inactive and cannot be used"_. Members who try it see _"Invalid or expired promo code"_.

## Redirect an old code

Override Promotion (_"Redirect this code to another promotion"_) makes an existing code give a different promotion's offer. Members type the old code and get the new deal.

**Step 1: Create the new offer first**

Create the promotion you want the old code to give, and make sure it's Active.

**Step 2: Open the old code**

In its ⋯ menu click View details.
**Step 3: Turn on Override Promotion**

Switch on Override Promotion and choose the new promotion under *"Select promotion to redirect
to"*. You'll see *"Override promotion enabled"*.

In your list the old code now shows _"Redirects to another promotion"_. To stop redirecting, turn Override Promotion off. If you see _"No active promotions available for override."_, create or activate the new promotion first.

## Change or delete a code

The dashboard doesn't let you edit or delete a code once it's created. Your options:

- Deactivate it and create a new code with the settings you want.
- Redirect it to a new promotion, so the old code keeps working with the new offer.
- Ask [Soul AI](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/soul-ai) on Home, for example _"Extend LAUNCH30 to the end of the month"_, _"Limit FOUNDING to 25 uses"_ or _"Delete the code SPRING"_. Soul AI shows you the change to confirm before it saves. Deleting stops the code working; earlier uses stay on record.

## Tips

- Give every code an expiry and a use limit on purpose, so you don't have to remember to switch it off.
- Name codes so you can tell them apart later: `PODCAST_ANNA` rather than `SAVE20`.
