# Tailor and send a pitch

> Make your own editable copy of an idea for one person, rewrite it with Soul, adjust the split, and send it.

A pitch is your own copy of an idea page, written for one person. You edit it, Soul can rewrite it for them, and when you send it they read exactly that version. The original idea never changes.

## When to use this

- You're inviting someone who wasn't on the original idea and want it to speak to them.
- You want to change the format, price, split or dates before anyone sees it.
- You want a proposal you can send, not just a conversation opener.

## Start a pitch

From an idea page, click Reach out or Invite someone else, add who it's for, then click Next: tailor the idea →. _"Taking your own copy of this idea…"_ and the editor opens, marked Draft and _"Your pitch to Maya"_.

You can start a pitch once the idea's write-up is finished. There's one draft per person: come back to it any time and your edits are there.

## Edit it

_"Only you can see this. Double-click any sentence to rewrite it where it sits, drag a share to move the split, and use each part's own controls to add to it or take it off. Nothing reaches Maya until you send it."_

| Rewrite a sentence | Double-click it and type.                                                                                                |
| Remove a part      | Use its Take off control. It moves to _"Not on this pitch"_; open it there to write it back in.                          |
| Add something      | Add a reason, Add a part, Write a price, Write a projection, Add a window, Add a way to take payment, and more.          |
| Change the split   | Drag the bars. Pin someone's share while you adjust the others. Add a party or take one off. Shares must add up to 100%. |
| Change the venue   | Reword or remove the venues Soul found. You can't add new ones.                                                          |

Ways to take payment you can add: Ticketed event, Course, Bookable session, Chat space, Membership or Off Soul.

## Let Soul rewrite it

Under Ask Soul, click Rewrite this for Maya. _"Soul can rewrite the page so it works better for Maya — adjusting the reasoning, plan, roles, and other details."_

1. In _"Anything to keep in mind?"_ say what to keep or change, for example _"keep it short, lead with the retreat"_.
2. Click Rewrite for Maya.

The rewrite makes it a two-person idea between you and them: other parties come off, their shares move to your recipient, and payment is set to you. _"Soul will only use dates and venues already on the page."_ You review everything, and you can undo it.

## Save and send

**Step 1: Save**

Click Save. The bar reads *"Everything is saved."* when you're done. Send stays greyed out until
everything is saved: *"Save it first — what goes out cannot be taken back."*

**Step 2: Send**

Click Send it to Maya. Add a note (optional), *"Tell Maya why you thought of them for this."*,
and click Send it.

**Warning:** 
Once sent, a pitch can't be changed: *"They read the version as it stands now."* To change
anything after that, start a new one.

## What happens next

- If they're on Soul: _"Maya has it, and your conversation is open."_ The pitch is in a conversation between just the two of you, with your note as the first message.
- If they aren't: _"Your pitch is on its way to Maya."_ They get an invitation email that stands for 21 days. See [Invite someone to an idea](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/audience/co-creation/invite-someone-to-an-idea).
- If Soul's sending limits say no: _"Nothing could be sent to Maya."_ Try again in a few days.
- The sent pitch becomes read-only: _"This is the page Maya read. It has gone, so nothing on it can change."_

## Tips

- Lead with them. Edit Why this is worth your time so the first thing they read is about their work.
- Be honest with the numbers. Take off a projection you can't stand behind.
