# Say hello to a match

> Open a conversation with your suggested co-creators, bring the idea into it, and keep talking in your Soul inbox.

Say Hello opens a private conversation between you and the people Soul suggested for an idea, and puts the idea in it so you can all open it from there.

## When to use this

- An idea looks promising and you'd like to talk it through.
- You want to see if the other person is interested before planning anything.

## Say hello

**Step 1: Open the idea**

In [Matches](https://bringsoul.life/co-creation), click Why This Fits on the card, then Get
Details.

**Step 2: Click Say Hello**

It's in the side panel under Co-creator suggestions. The *Say hello to …* window opens: *"This
opens a conversation with Maya and brings this idea into it. You can both open the idea from the
conversation afterwards."*

**Step 3: Write your first message**

Type in Your first message, or start from one of the Ways To Begin: Warm hello, Why you, Find a
time or Keep it short. Up to 2,000 characters.

**Step 4: Send**

Click Send & open conversation. The conversation opens in your Soul inbox with the idea
attached.

## What they receive

- An email that you reached out (_"… reached out to you"_), quoting your message and the idea, with Open the conversation. If they've already had an email from Co-Creation in the last day, yours is bundled into a short digest instead.
- The conversation in their Soul inbox, with the idea as a card: _"Co-creation idea"_, its title and who's on it. They can open the full idea from there.
- The idea's page from their side, showing _"Who shared this idea"_.

## Keep the conversation going

Co-Creation conversations live in the same inbox as your other messages, on your Soul home. See [Messages](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/audience/messages).

- The header reads _"Co-creation space · 2 people"_. Library shows every idea shared in the conversation.
- In your dashboard's message list, these threads carry a Co-creation badge.
- Bring another idea into the same conversation by saying hello from that idea. The same group always gets the same conversation.
- When new messages arrive and you're away, Soul emails a short summary a few minutes after the last one.

## Who Say Hello reaches

- Only suggested co-creators who are already on Soul. If nobody suggested has joined, Say Hello isn't shown. Use Reach out to email them the idea instead: see [Invite someone to an idea](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/audience/co-creation/invite-someone-to-an-idea).
- Only the idea's owner can say hello from it. If an idea was shared with you, use Continue the conversation.
- Already said hello? The button becomes Open conversation: _"You shared this with Maya on … It is in your conversation."_

## Tips

- Say why them. _"Your work is why this came to mind"_ gets more replies than a generic hello.
- Suggest a next step: a 30-minute call this week.
- Don't wait for the whole write-up. You can say hello while Soul is still writing the details.
