# Announcements FAQ

## On your portal

**My announcement isn't showing on my portal**

Check these in order. Is it published (not on the Drafts tab)? Is it Unlisted (unlisted posts
are never listed)? Is its broadcast still scheduled (it appears at the send time)? Is the
Community Notes section turned on in My Portal? Without that section, only a highlighted
announcement shows. Private posts show only to signed-in subscribers.

**Can I publish the post now but send the email later?**

Not in one step. A post with a scheduled broadcast stays hidden until the send time. To have it
on your portal now and email it later, publish it without notifying, then later open it, click
Edit, then Save Changes, and choose Save & Notify with your audience and time.

**Can I put one announcement at the top of my portal?**

Yes. Add it to Highlights. See [Share an
announcement](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/audience/announcements/share-an-announcement).

## Sending

**Someone says they didn't get the email**

Ask them to check spam and promotions folders. Then check they're in the audience you chose, and
that their contact in [People](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/audience/people) has the right email address. People
who unsubscribed are skipped, and anyone Soul only has a phone number for gets a text instead.

**Can I send the same announcement again?**

Not to the same people. Each person receives an announcement once, so notifying again only
reaches people who haven't had it. To remind everyone, create a new announcement.

**Can I choose email or SMS myself?**

No. Soul uses email when it has an address and a text when it only has a phone number. See

**Can I email one person?**

Not with an announcement. Tag them in [People](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/audience/people) and send to *"People
tagged [tag]"*, or message them directly in [Messages](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/audience/messages).

**Can I stop an email that's already sending?**

No. Cancel Broadcast is only available while it's Scheduled. Once it shows Sending or Sent, it
can't be stopped or recalled.

**Why can't I save a draft?**

Notify members is on. A draft can't have a broadcast. Choose Disable Notifications & Save Draft,
or switch Notify members off first.

**Why can't I change visibility?**

You're sending to leads, which locks it to Public, or only to All Community Members, which locks
it to Unlisted. Change the audience to unlock it.

**Why are there extra drafts on my Drafts tab?**

Previewing a brand-new announcement saves a draft copy so the test email can be sent. Delete any
copies you don't need.

## Emails and compliance

**What name do my emails come from?**

Your portal name. Change it by renaming your portal in
[Settings](https://portal.bringsoul.life/settings).

**Do my emails have an unsubscribe link?**

Yes, every announcement email includes one. People who unsubscribe are skipped in future
broadcasts. It doesn't stop their order and booking emails.

**Can I attach a PDF?**

Not yet. Attachments other than audio are marked *"Coming soon"*. Put the file in your [Content
Library](https://help.bringsoul.life/luminaries/offerings/content-library/introduction) and link to it in the post.

**Where do I see open rates?**
